Surprises

They said it would be a whole family picture and the whole family is what I was expecting. That would be 6 adults and three little ones. What I didn't know was that there had been a new addition to this family since I had seen them last. In fact, I didn't know there had been an addition until after we had chatted for an hour at Starbucks waiting for the fog to clear and after we had walked across the street to start our session. It was then that the new addition magically appeared at Gary's feet and it was then that I burst out laughing. A rack?! A very large rack of antler's from an elk that Gary had been waiting years to catch was laying at his feet and he wanted it in his family picture... his wifey picture, his single shot, and in the shot with him and his sons. And it made me love my job even more.

Each family is so unique and I love being able to capture them with my camera.

I know you're all dying to see the rack and I have a bit of bad news. After I burnt the disc that they purchased I wasn't thinking about future blog posts and deleted most of their images. But there is hope that someday they could appear in blogland over here.

Thank-you so much for letting me hang out with you guys and for keeping me on my toes! Eryn and her husband Matt are in the process of starting their own photography business and it means a lot to me that people who are equally passionate about photography would trust me with their family photos. They are also in the process of adding their own addition to the family in the form of a baby girl from Ethipoia. Which to me is a little more exciting than antlers. Sorry, Gary:) You can follow their gigantic leap of faith here.

Pink shoes for the little girl they are waiting for. I love it!
